WordPress website and store management with an AI agent

WordPress website management without waiting for your web developer: an AI agent adds products, updates prices, builds pages and fixes bugs. You approve first.

  • Adds products to your store from photos and a price list
  • Updates prices, builds pages and fixes bugs, from a WhatsApp message
  • No change goes live on the site without approval, until you decide otherwise

Your agent is set up and supported by Shahaf Platin of Platin Digital, who builds AI agents for businesses after 12 years in websites and marketing.

  1. You ask: Here are the photos and the price list. Add the products to the store.
  2. A finished product page
  3. The product is in your store as a draft. Publish it?
Illustration: how it looks, from your request to your approval

Tuesday, 9:30 PM

18 new products were photographed three weeks ago. None of them is in the store

Six products added, 12 waiting

  1. You open "Add new product" in the site admin and upload a photo
  2. You type a name, copy the price from the price list, write a description and pick a category
  3. By 11:00 PM six products are in, and you’re out of energy
  4. Twelve wait for another free evening. Two of them have no price in the price list, and get forgotten

One message, and approval from your phone

  1. You sent it the 18 photos and the price list on WhatsApp
  2. 16 products are saved in the store as drafts, with a name, price, description and category. Customers can’t see them yet
  3. Two products have no price in the price list. It doesn’t guess a price: it asks you
  4. You went through them on your phone, wrote "Publish", and the 16 products are in the store

This is an evening with an agent connected to your website and store: it does the routine work, and it goes live once you’ve approved.

In short

What an AI agent is

Software that works on your website the way a web developer would: you message it on WhatsApp with what to do, it does it in the site admin, and shows you before customers see anything.

The work it takes on

It adds products, updates prices and stock, builds pages, writes descriptions, changes the design and fixes bugs, including when the fix is in the site’s code.

What stays with you

The decision about what goes live. It prepares everything as a draft, meaning it’s saved on the site and only you can see it, and publishes once you approve. Before a significant change there is a backup of the site, and a way to put it back as it was.

How you start

With one kind of work, such as new products. First it prepares three or four products, you correct whatever is off, and only then does it get the rest.

What you can ask it to do on your website and store

Six sample requests, from a new page on the site to running a WooCommerce store. You write to it the way you’d write to a web developer, in your own words and without technical terms.

New products

You message it on WhatsApp

"Here are the photos and the price list. Add the products to the store"

It does this
  • Matches each photo to its row in the price list
  • Prepares a name, price, description and category for each product, and saves it as a draft
  • Flags any product with something missing, such as a price
  • Publishes to the store once you approve

Prices and stock

You message it on WhatsApp

"I raised prices, here’s the new price list. And the round mirror is sold out"

It does this
  • Compares the new price list with the prices in the store
  • Sends you a list: the price today, and what it will become
  • Updates prices and stock once you approve

New pages

You message it on WhatsApp

"Build a "Shipping and returns" page, based on what’s in our store policy"

It does this
  • Builds the page in the same design as the rest of the site
  • Sends you a link, to see it before it goes live
  • Adds it to the menu once you approve

Descriptions and copy

You message it on WhatsApp

"The cushions category has only a name and a price. Write a description for each product"

It does this
  • Writes a description for each product, from the details on the site and what you sent it
  • Asks about what it doesn’t know, such as dimensions or the type of fabric
  • Sends you three sample descriptions, writes the rest in the style you approved, and puts them on the site after you’ve gone through them

Design changes

You message it on WhatsApp

"The "Add to cart" button is too small on a phone. And swap the big image on the home page for this one"

It does this
  • Prepares the change without customers seeing it
  • Sends you how it looks on a phone and on a computer
  • Puts it live once you approve

Bugs

You message it on WhatsApp

"A customer wrote that the coupon doesn’t work at checkout"

It does this
  • Checks the coupon and checkout settings on the site
  • Finds what caused the problem, even when the cause is in the site’s code
  • Explains to you in plain words what it wants to fix
  • Fixes it once you approve, and tells you what changed

You can also ask it for a regular check, say every Monday: that the site backup ran, that the forms are sending, and that no links lead to a page that doesn’t exist. If how your site shows up on Google matters to you too, that’s the work of SEO with an AI agent. What’s worth checking and how often is set out in our monthly website checklist.

18 products, from the photos to the store

The example from the top of the page, step by step. Say you run an online home decor store, and new stock has arrived.

  1. You send

Tuesday, 9:30 PM. You send the agent 18 photos on WhatsApp, and your price list as it is, an Excel file or a Google Sheets spreadsheet. You don’t log in to the site admin.

  2. Photo against price list

It matches each photo to its row in the price list. 16 products have a photo and a price. Two, a candle holder and a doormat, have a photo and no price.

  3. A product saved as a draft

For each of the 16 products it prepares a product page: name, price, category, photo and a short description, from what’s in the price list and what can be seen in the photo. The products are saved on the site as drafts: you can see them, customers can’t yet.

  4. It asks: publish?

You get a link to the products on WhatsApp and one question: "Publish?" In a separate message it asks for the price of the two missing products. A description that’s off? Tell it what to fix, and it remembers the correction for the next products.

  5. The products are in the store

You answered "Publish", and the 16 products appear in the store. It goes through them and checks that each one opens with its photo and price. The two products with no price stay as drafts until you answer.

Once you’ve approved the products several times in a row without correcting anything, you can decide that new products go into the store without asking. That happens only if you ask for it, and one message takes you back to "ask first".

What happens when the price list and the photos don’t line up

A price list and a folder of photos never match exactly. When you add products yourself, at the end of the day, every gap goes into the store as it is. The agent doesn’t guess: when a decision is needed, it asks you. Five cases from a home decor store:

A product has a photo, and no price in the price list

Doing it yourselfIt goes into the store without a price, or gets set aside and forgotten

AI agentLeaves it as a draft, and asks you for the price

A product from the price list is already in the store, under a slightly different name

Doing it yourselfA duplicate is created, and customers see both

AI agentShows you the product already in the store, and asks whether to update it or add a new one

Two similar vases in the photos, and it isn’t clear which is which row in the price list

Doing it yourselfYou guess, and the large vase goes up with the small one’s price

AI agentSends you both photos, and asks which belongs to which row

The photos from your phone are very large files

Doing it yourselfThey go up as they are, and the category page loads slowly

AI agentShrinks every photo before it goes onto the site

A cushion that comes in three colors, with one row in the price list

Doing it yourselfIt goes up once, in one color, and customers don’t know there are more

AI agentAsks whether to add one product with a color choice, or three separate products

An agent can get things wrong too, for example by putting a product in the wrong category. That’s why everything waits for you before customers see it, and there’s a list of everything it did on the site. What else routine care of a website involves is covered in our guide to WordPress site management with an AI agent.

What it does on its own, and what waits for your approval

This is how we start. What moves from "Prepares and asks" to "On its own" is up to you.

On its own

  • Reads the site, the products and the files you sent
  • Prepares products, pages and descriptions as drafts only you can see
  • Prepares a design change or a fix, and sends you how it will look
  • Looks into a bug and explains to you what caused it
  • Makes sure there’s an up-to-date backup of the site
  • Logs everything it does

Prepares and asks

  • Publishing a new product, page or piece of copy
  • Changing a price or stock, an offer or a coupon
  • A design change customers can see
  • A fix in the site’s code
  • Updating or removing a plugin
  • Restoring the site from the backup

No access

  • Your password to the site admin
  • Card details, and the store’s payment account
  • Moving money
  • Deleting anything that can’t be restored
  • Anything you didn’t ask us to connect, such as your personal email

Whatever is waiting for approval arrives in one message, wherever suits you: WhatsApp, Telegram or email. The message has a link to see the change, and what will change on the site if you approve. A small fix, like a typo, can go live without asking if you’ve decided so. A price, an offer and a code fix come to you first, unless you’ve decided otherwise. How we protect the site and the information in it: AI agent security.

What it works with

It works on the website you already have, in the same design and with the same tools. Nobody builds a new site for it. A Shopify store can be connected too, and what the agent can do in it is checked on the intro call.

Website and store

  • WordPress
  • WooCommerce
  • Elementor

Price lists and photos

  • Excel (Microsoft 365)
  • Google Sheets
  • Google Drive

How you talk to it

  • WhatsApp
  • Telegram
  • Email

The agent logs in to the site with its own username, not with your password. That user can do only the work we agreed on, and can be closed at any time.

Getting started: from the first call to an agent working on your site

Five steps. Until step four, nothing changes on the site your customers see.

  1. Intro call

    We need you here

Together we go through the site: what’s waiting on it, who looks after it today, and who holds the admin login. We pick one kind of work to start with, usually new products.

  2. Connecting

    We need you here

The agent gets its own username on the site. We handle the connection. All we need from you is approval to enter the site admin, without handing over your password. If your web developer holds the login, we ask them. Before starting we check there’s an up-to-date backup. The agent itself runs on a separate computer in the cloud.

  3. Test on your own site

    We need you here

It gets three or four real products of yours, and prepares them as drafts. Nothing goes live. You tell it what to fix, for example "the description is too long" or "this belongs in the living room category", and it prepares them again.

  4. It starts working

    We need you here

When the products it prepares get through almost without corrections, you send it the real work. Everything still waits for your approval before it goes live.

  5. Ongoing support

We regularly go through what it did and what you corrected, and fix things when something on the site changes. A new kind of work, such as design changes or bug fixes, joins when the previous one runs without corrections.

Each kind of work is first tested on your own site, which is why they’re added one at a time. How long it takes is covered in the questions below. What to prepare before the call: building an AI agent for your business.

Doing it yourself, a web developer or an AI agent

Three ways to handle the routine work on your website and store:

Doing it yourself

In the evening, after work

18 new products
Several evenings of typing
A small fix, like a wrong price
You log in to the site admin and hunt for where to change it
A bug at checkout
You leave it alone, so as not to break something else
When the work gets done
When you have time left
What you pay
Your time

A web developer

By the hour or a block of hours

18 new products
You send photos and a price list, and wait until they’re free
A small fix, like a wrong price
One more request on their list
A bug at checkout
Fixes it, and knows the site inside out
When the work gets done
When they’re free from other jobs
What you pay
An hourly rate, or a block of hours

An AI agent

We connect and support it

18 new products
You send photos and a price list, and approve on your phone
A small fix, like a wrong price
One message on WhatsApp
A bug at checkout
Checks, explains, and fixes once you approve
When the work gets done
When you message it, evenings and weekends included
What you pay
A one-time setup fee and a monthly fee

The block of hours you buy for routine work is what the agent can replace: adding products, updating prices, new pages and fixes. You can also combine the two: the agent for routine work, and your web developer for the big jobs.

When it isn’t a fit

Four situations where we’ll tell you not to start yet:

The site hardly changes

A site where something changes a few times a year, with no long list waiting, doesn’t need an agent. A setup fee and a monthly fee won’t pay off for that amount of work.

What you need is a new website

The agent works on the website you already have. If the site is old and you want to rebuild it from scratch, build first, then hand the routine work to the agent.

There’s no admin login

When the site is built on a platform that doesn’t let an agent connect, or nobody knows who holds the admin login, that gets sorted out first. Without a username of its own, the agent can’t work on the site.

Nobody to check and approve

At first every product and every page waits for your approval. If nobody opens the messages for a week, the products stay as drafts, and the store stays as it is.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if it breaks something on the site?

Before every significant change, such as a design change or a code fix, there is a backup of the site and a way to put it back as it was. If something breaks, we restore the site from the backup, with your approval, and only then look into what went wrong. There’s also a list of everything it did and when, so you can see what changed. And we fix what caused the problem, so it doesn’t happen again.

Can it change design and code, or only add products?

Design and code as well. It can make a button bigger, swap an image on the home page, reorder a page, and fix a bug whose cause is in the site’s code. A significant change is made once a backup exists and you’ve approved, and you see how it will look before customers do.

Does it publish things on the site without my approval?

No, until you decide otherwise. This is how we start: every product, page and change is saved as a draft, and goes live once you approve. Later you can decide that certain things, new products for example, go live without asking. You set that, and you can go back to "ask first" whenever you like.

Do I have to give it my password to the site?

No. It gets its own username on the site, one that can do only the work we agreed on. That way you can see what it did and what you did, and it can be disconnected at any time without changing your password.

Who sees the store’s and the customers’ information?

The agent runs on a separate cloud computer used only by your business, so your information isn’t mixed with another business’s. To write a description or read a price list, it passes the material to the AI company that powers it, such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. What it can see on the site is settled together on the intro call, according to the work it has to do. When the work touches orders and customer details, we choose a company and terms under which the information is used for nothing else.

Can my web developer stay?

Yes. The agent gets its own username, and your web developer carries on with theirs. One possible split: routine work, such as products, prices and fixes, moves to the agent, and big jobs stay with the developer. We agree on the split on the intro call, so the two don’t change the same page.

How long until it starts working?

One simple kind of work, such as adding products as drafts, can be running within three days of connecting, with everything still waiting for your approval before it goes live. All kinds of work together, including design changes and bug fixes, take one to two months, because each kind is first tested on your own site.

How much does website and store management with an AI agent cost?

There are two payments: a one-time fee for connecting to the site, and a monthly fee for ongoing support. Alongside them there is a charge for using the AI itself, and it’s itemized in the proposal. You get an exact price in writing before we start, after we’ve seen the site and what’s waiting on it. What the price is made up of: How much does an AI agent for business cost.

What has been waiting longest on your website?

Message us on WhatsApp with your website address and what’s waiting on it: products, prices, a new page or a bug. We’ll look at the site and tell you which of it an agent can do, and where to start. No commitment.
